Description: The car is pretty steetable we fallowed the Machinests advice and camed it down abit, The engine starts very well for an engine that has about 11and half to 1 compression, a note on this one if you use high octane fule you will notice the better performance. what I mean about it's akick in the ass to drive is the 1971 351 cleveland stock rated 340 hp produces plenty of power up to 6000 because we camed it down for street use. The machinist said the bottom end is ok to 8000 I wouldn't do that Unless the the heads were topped and died for the screw in studs, hardend pushrods and guides. the heads are the firebreathing heads.that made the ford 302 bosses 351 clevlands famous for out running the chevys in the late 60s and early 70s in the nascars I' bringing the heads that were replaced on the engine if you want to dispute any thing I' saing just bring a chevy head preferable a 202 head and compare them, theres nothing to compare the titanium 2.19 intake valves 63cc closed chambers, huge ports. No comparison to the early chevy's. Heads have hardend seats Bronze guides so you don't have to worry about the unleaded fuel or lead additive. The high gears were left in the car for fuel efficience. 20mpg at 70 no wind. another note the .030 Makes it a 357 cleveland and boosts the compression abit. Also I would recommend putting a kit you can get to run the oil back to the sending unit to feed the oil pressure directly to the 4 and 5 main journals if your going to run the engine hard.
