2001 signaled the end for the incredible Lamborghini Diablo. Many enthusiasts see these cars as the last of the classic brutish breed before Audi injected a dose of restraint/boredom into the marque with the Murcielago. With the introduction of the VT 6.0, these final Diablos got a 6.0 litre V12 with variable valve timing and 550hp, full-time All Wheel Drive and active suspension, carbon fiber body panels, new fixed headlights, new magnesium wheels, a completely new interior, and more. With reduced weight and increased power, 60mph comes in 3.6 seconds and top speed is an atmospheric 205. The Diablo pictured here is finished in stunning Anteres Grey over black leather with grey piping and stitching. The carbon fiber front spoiler lip, side sills, and full interior trim create an aggressive contrast. Only 260 6.0 VTs were built, and this pristine, low mile, unmolested example is surely one of the best available. |
